BCLP Partner Andrey Spektor, former federal prosecutor, was selected from a national pool of prosecutors to co-author an article for the September issue of the Department of Justice’s Journal of Federal Law and Practice. In the article, Andrey, along with his former colleague Lindsay Gerdes, provide practical advice on preserving appellate issues at sentencings. The authors draw on their experience of leading dozens of sentencings and appeals to catalog missteps committed by prosecutors—missteps that were avoidable and resulted in adverse rulings on appeal.
