Luxury Law Summit London 2020
On September 3, 2020, over 200 luxury business and legal directors from all over the globe are expected to gather at the Ham Yard Hotel in Soho, London for the 2020 Luxury Law Summit. The focus of this year’s London Summit will be the climate crisis and strategies for sustainable business. Delegates will have the opportunity discuss the challenges the industry faces, from supply chain to point-of-sale. This is the 8th year for BCLP to act as a sponsor of the summit, alongside other global firms with a luxury retail and consumer products sector focus. Speakers include brand founders, CEOs and top legal minds from some of the world’s most prominent retailers and firms. BCLP Restructuring & Insolvency partner Ian Benjamin is leading a workshop entitled Insolvent Retailers – A Survival Guide for Brand Owners, alongside Rob Croxen, Managing Director at Alvarez and Marsal, and Federica Pietrogrande, Managing Director at Gordon Brothers . Their session will focus on pre-insolvency practices, how to negotiate the insolvency process as an unsecured creditor and valuable lessons learned from past luxury retailer insolvencies. Ian Benjamin's own experience covers a number of industries, and he has worked extensively on both creditor and debtor led restructurings including advising creditors following recent insolvencies of key British retailers. He was named as one of the Legal 500’s Next Generation Partners, citing his work as a top corporate restructuring and insolvency lawyer, who is making a material difference to the practice.
