Kansas City Partners Elaine Drodge Koch and Vicki Westerhaus authored an article published May 16 in Governance and Compliance Magazine on how the #MeToo movement creates challenges for directors. “In the aftermath of the #MeToo movement, it is now time for boards to take action. Directors have long grappled with how to oversee company ‘culture’ and employee behaviors,” they wrote. “Now many boards find themselves wedged between a rock and a hard place, as they struggle to balance the need for swift action when a complaint is made versus the need for appropriate due process rights for the accused.” The substance of their article was first conveyed in a firm blog post published on the Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner Employment and Labor Blog.
