Partner Authors Op-Ed for ‘Fortune Magazine’ on Judge Jackson Confirmation

BCLP Partner Andrey Spektor authored an op-ed piece published April 7 by Fortune Magazine on the historic confirmation of Ketanji Brown Jackson to the U.S. Supreme Court. Andrey, a former federal prosecutor and law clerk to district court and U.S. Court of Appeals judges, wrote about Judge Jackson’s journey in the judiciary, from the “record-creating trial court, to an error-correcting appellate court, before landing at the precedent-setting court of last resort.” As a former federal defender and lawyer to the U.S. Sentencing Commission, Judge Jackson, Andrey wrote, “brings a much-needed voice to a robing room filled with former professors, scholars, prosecutors, and appellate advocates.” The soon-to-be justice, Andrey added, “has had unfiltered exposure to Supreme Court opinions traveling down the judiciary and touching individuals.”
