Underwood Authors Article on Civil Rights Icon for ‘Communications Lawyer’
Jan 25, 2021Atlanta Associate Brian Underwood co-authored an article in the fall edition of Communications Lawyer concerning the late civil rights activist and United States Representative John Lewis (1940-2020) and what young lawyers can learn from his life of service. The article highlights the life and legacy of the former Georgia House member and his life of “good trouble” serving as a Freedom Rider, a founding member of the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC), an organizer of the March on Washington, and as a leader of the famed march in Selma, Alabama, that became known as “Bloody Sunday.” Communications Lawyer is a publication of the ABA Forum on Communications Law.
