Miami Associate David Axelman has been appointed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis to the state’s Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC) for the remainder of a term ending July 1, 2020.

Florida’s JNCs select nominees to fill judicial vacancies within the Florida court system. There are 27 separate JNCs in the state: one for the Florida Supreme Court; five for each of the district courts of appeal; 20 for each circuit court and the county courts contained in that circuit; and one statewide commission for judges of compensation claims. Axelman will serve on the Eleventh Circuit JNC.

At BCLP, Axelman’s litigation practice includes competition disputes, business acquisition disputes, business torts and securities litigation, at the trial court and appellate levels. Axelman has served clients in a wide variety of industries and also has experience in election law, having served as Florida co-counsel to a presidential campaign and represented multiple county political parties in federal court.
