Kansas City Partner Bruce Baty was quoted June 2 by BestWeek, a national publication with focused news coverage of the two largest insurance markets in the world, concerning new lawsuits that insurers face as the U.S. economy reopens. Baty said that central to the anticipated litigation is whether businesses responded adequately to the outbreak. “In the current environment, you have CGL carriers that are holding their breath and fingers crossed that they are not the next ones up,” Baty said. “Is there going to be that same sort of political push to impose liability where we don’t think there is coverage.”
