The international law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP) announced that experienced securities litigator Shea Hicks has joined the firm as counsel. Resident in the firm’s St. Louis office, he will practice as a member of the firm’s Investigations, Financial Regulation & White Collar Practice.

Hicks represents broker-dealers, investment advisers, banks and other financial institutions in complex, high-stakes securities litigation, arbitration, examinations, investigations and enforcement proceedings involving the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) and state securities agencies.

Prior to joining BCLP, Hicks served as managing counsel in the regulatory enforcement and internal investigations group within Wells Fargo’s Wealth and Investment Management Division. In this role he served as first chair, or managed others, in significant and complex regulatory enforcement matters from inception to resolution. He also coordinated internal investigations into possible misconduct or systemic control breakdowns. Prior to Wells Fargo, he served as a managing director and senior counsel at Morgan Keegan & Co., and as an associate attorney at the law firm Tate Lazarini & Beall, where he focused his practice in both roles in securities arbitration, litigation and regulatory enforcement matters.

“I’m pleased to be joining BCLP as part of the firm’s well-regarded Investigations Practice,” Hicks noted. “I believe my years of experience in many high-stakes arbitrations, litigation, regulatory enforcement matters and internal investigations, as well as day-to-day compliance matters, will be an asset to clients in St. Louis and across the firm.”
