BCLP is a sponsor and has key involvement in the 2021 Midwest Venture Showcase, to be held virtually April 27-28. The firm is alongtime supporter of organizing group InvestMidwest.

The 2021 showcase will feature more than 50 early stage Midwest companies seeking seed, series A and series B investor funding to take their businesses to the next level of success. In addition to the company pitches, the agenda includes topics such as “Why the Midwest is Important for Investment” and “Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Investing,” hosted by prominent members of the start-up and investor communities based in the Midwest.

St. Louis Partner Brendan Johnson, leader of BCLP’s Start-Up & Venture Capital Practice, will host the showcase’s food and agriculture track, introducing pitches and providing insights on BCLP’s start-up and VC offerings. In addition to hosting, he served on the showcase’s technology track selection committee and as a coach for the companies. St. Louis Partner Powell Carman, co-leader of the firm’s Agribusiness & Food Practice, and St. Louis Partner Taavi Annus also both served on the showcase’s food and agriculture and technology track selection committees, respectively, and as advisers to the presenting companies.
