BCLP has been recognized in the following categories in the Financial Times’  North America Innovative Lawyers Report 2018: Data, Knowledge & Intelligence; Managing & Developing Talent; and Most Innovative Law Firms for Business of Law. (Subscription may be required to view the full report.)

As a leading international broadsheet, the Financial Times (FT) holds significant worth in the business and finance world. Its Ninth Annual North America Innovative Lawyers Report has become one of the top legal rankings in the region, providing a unique analysis of the legal industry by assessing lawyers on their innovations. This year, more than 500 submissions and 94 nominations from law firms were received.

Of particular note is BCLP’s “Standout Award” achieved in the Data, Knowledge & Intelligence category. BCLP’s consultancy division, Cantilever, referred to in the report as BCXponent (the legacy consultancy name), is praised for its work with the in-house legal team at the car rental company Avis. The two firms worked together to develop a product that uses data as a means of valuing something that has traditionally been treated as a cost – the in-house legal team. Cantilever and Avis created a dashboard that enables legal teams to quantify the contribution it makes to business. The innovation has ensured the legal team effectively prioritizes, reducing time spent on low-value work. Congratulations to Chief of Legal Operations Solutions Chris Emerson on his work with Avis.
