Chicago, July 10, 2017 – The international law firm Bryan Cave LLP today announced that Brian Sher has been named Chicago office managing partner, effective immediately. Sher joined the firm in 2004 and is an active member of Bryan Cave’s Commercial Litigation and Life Sciences & Health Care Groups.

“Brian is a highly capable attorney and a great asset to our firm,” said Bryan Cave Chair Therese Pritchard. “He has been a leader within the Chicago office for many years and will capitalize on that experience as the new office managing partner.”

Sher’s litigation practice includes general business and commercial litigation for local and national clients. He frequently serves as outside general counsel for mid-sized companies. Sher represents corporations with respect to claims of tortious interference with business relations and breaches of covenants not to compete. He also represents media companies with respect to claims of defamation and commercial disputes and health care companies with respect to claims of fraud, conspiracy and anti-kickback violations.

In addition, Sher advises clients on methods of avoiding protracted litigation through proper business planning, negotiation, pursuit of injunctive relief and alternative dispute resolution. His experience encompasses all aspects of litigation and alternate dispute resolution, including case strategy, depositions, hearings, trial and appeal.

Sher received his J.D., cum laude, in 1987 from Duke University. He received his B.A. in 1984 from the University of Michigan.
