Five lawyers from the St. Louis office have been recognized as among the nation’s top attorneys for delivering superior service to large corporate clients, as judged by BTI Consulting Group. The 2012 BTI Client Service All-Stars are: Fred Bartelsmeyer, Seth Frederiksen, Peter Herzog, Dan O’Keefe and Bill Seabaugh.

They are among the 272-member BTI 2012 Client Service All-Stars, identified each year solely through interviews with corporate counsel. The All-Stars are recommended by corporate counsel for showing, “exactly what it takes to earn client loyalty during a time of dropping client satisfaction – and spending,” according to BTI’s summary.

BTI interviewed more than 240 corporate counsel from large and Fortune 1000 companies to probe all aspects of client relationships. Interviews were conducted between May 23 and Sept. 16, 2011. Interviews represented nearly 67 percent of Global 500 and Fortune 1000 companies and more than 15 industries, including banking, chemicals, energy, financial services, high-tech and manufacturing, among others.

Bartelsmeyer was recognized by BTI for his corporate transactions work and was nominated by a large professional services company. His practice serves businesses in a wide range of domestic and foreign matters in the U.S., Latin America, Europe and Asia in connection with their investments and other business activities, particularly global mergers and acquisitions. He is knowledgeable in business-related aspects of the world’s legal systems, as well as in business practices and cultures of many countries.

Frederiksen was recognized by BTI for his corporate work and was nominated by a large manufacturing company. He represents a variety of public and private company clients and private business owners in connection with a wide array of transactional matters focusing on acquisition, merger, disposition, joint venture arrangements and strategic alliances. Prior to joining the firm, Frederiksen represented clients in Washington, D.C., from the aerospace, defense, automotive, information technology, health care and health information management sectors.

Herzog was recognized by BTI for litigation and was nominated by a global manufacturing giant. He has successfully defended more than 100 consumer class actions against companies like Ford, Mercedes-Benz, Evenflo, and Michelin in trial and appellate courts across the country. Herzog was one of the lawyers who represented Ford in trials against certified classes in St. Clair County, Illinois and Sacramento, California. In 2011 he was one of the lead lawyers representing Ford in Jablonski v. Ford Motor Company, where the Illinois Supreme Court unanimously reversed a 43 million dollar Madison County plaintiffs' verdict and limited a manufacturer's duties under theories of negligent design and negligent failure to warn.

O’Keefe was recognized by BTI for his employment and litigation work and was nominated by a large manufacturing company. He concentrates his practice in the areas of labor and employment law and commercial litigation. He regularly litigates employment claims, both on an individual and class basis. He also assists clients with advice, consultation and planning on traditional labor and human resource matters.

Seabaugh was recognized by BTI for his corporate governance work and was nominated by a Fortune 1000 consumer goods company. He has broad experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate and partnership finance and both publicly offered and privately placed securities. He has participated in significant transactions for several of the firm’s corporate clients, including Emerson Electric, Monsanto, Energizer, Ralcorp and Brown Shoe and many privately held corporate, venture capital and investment banking clients.
