Global law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP) has expanded its Data Privacy & Cyber Security Practice with the hire of Geraldine Scali, who joins the firm Sept. 14 as a partner in the London office.

Scali joins from Sidley Austin, where she advised international clients on data protection, privacy and information security including GDPR compliance, cybersecurity and security breach responses.

Simon Beddow, regional leader of the firm’s Corporate & Finance Transactions Team, said of her hire: “We have seen increasing growth opportunities in the data privacy and cyber security area for some time and are delighted to be enhancing our capability with Geraldine’s arrival. Her joining adds to our strong global brand in this area – Geraldine will be our second specialist data partner in London, together with UK lead, Kate Brimsted. We look forward to having her as part of the team.”

Of her joining BCLP, Scali said: “I am delighted to be joining the team at BCLP. The corporate offering at the firm continues to go from strength to strength and I look forward to participating in the growth of the data protection and cybersecurity arena, where I see significant opportunity.”
