Partner Tim Hellier authored a piece for Building Magazine, first published May 13, after the long-anticipated Planning Bill was introduced to parliament in the Queen’s speech on May 11. In advance of a formal response by the government to last summer’s consultation on the “Planning for the Future” white paper, this is the first formal indication of which proposed reforms are being pursued. In his article, Hellier considers the main elements of the bill, including changes to local plans, a new infrastructure levy, simplification of environmental impact assessments and development corporation reform.

Hellier’s thoughts on the Planning Bill were also published in The Planner and Inside Conveyancing.
