Phoenix Partner Robert Miller and Chief Innovation Office Katie DeBord will present at the American Bankruptcy Institute’s 2018 Annual Spring Meeting. Now in its 36th year, the ABI’s Annual Spring Meeting brings together top practitioners from across the insolvency industry for keynote sessions, networking events and a variety of targeted educational meetings.

Miller’s practice at Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner focuses on distressed business situations of all kinds, including Chapter 11 restructurings, non-bankruptcy workouts, turnarounds, and distressed company mergers and acquisitions. He will join a panel presentation on “Navigating § 552: Pre-Petition Security Interests in Proceeds.” Discussion will cover how and when a secured creditor’s rights are affected and typical scenarios to watch out for in this difficult area of the law.

DeBord drives BCLP’s global initiatives to innovate how the firm delivers client services. This includes new ways to train and develop associates, and new processes and technologies to drive efficiencies and collaboration within the firm. She will join a panel of lawyer-technologists to discuss their experiences with AI technology platforms, and explain how technology tools can help provide “added value” for firm clients.
