Partner Stephanie Moll has been elected treasurer of STEP USA, the U.S. branch of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners, effective April 1. She will hold this position until 2022. She is also the founding chair of the St. Louis Chapter for the remainder of the year.
STEP’s mission is to improve public understanding of issues related to inheritance and succession planning and to promote education and high professional standards among members.
A partner in BCLP’s Denver, Boulder and St. Louis offices, Moll’s practice focuses on estate planning and administration, particularly wealth transfer tax planning. She assists clients with their pre-death estate planning and wealth preservation through the creation of wills, revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts (including irrevocable insurance trusts, intentionally defective irrevocable grantor trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts, private annuity sales to grantor trusts and installment sale transactions to grantor trusts), the use of lifetime gifting, and closely held business succession planning.
Ms. Moll also advises on the international aspects of U.S. tax matters and asset structuring and succession planning, as part of a multi-office team that advises trustees and international families and family offices on planning for U.S. beneficiaries or U.S. investments, expatriation from the United States and pre-immigration tax planning for foreign individuals who plan to become a U.S. tax resident, and related FATCA and CRS compliance matters.
