The international law firm Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP announced today that Christian Auty has joined the firm as counsel in the Technology and Commercial Group. Auty will reside in the Chicago office.

Auty focuses his practice in the areas of data privacy, data breaches and distributed ledger technology. He advises clients on compliance with existing and anticipated data privacy regulations, including HIPAA and the GDPR, as well as state and federal regulations that pertain to blockchain technologies.

Prior to joining the firm, Auty served as principal at a full-service law firm where he advised on data privacy compliance and was a member of the Blockchain Technologies Team. He also practiced at a national law firm, focusing on regulatory compliance within the healthcare and financial fields.

Auty received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School with honors in 2005 and his B.A. from Boston College in 2002.
