BCLP Partner Ashley Ebersole is set to moderate a webinar discussing the SEC regulation of digital assets on Jan. 18.

Sponsored by the FinTech Regulation & Enforcement Committee of the D.C. Bar (of which Ashley serves as vice chair), the remote program will cover the Securities and Exchange Commission’s (SEC) regulatory posture and enforcement priorities regarding digital assets.  The SEC has been the most active financial markets regulator in the digital assets/crypto space, and continues to have a profound effect on the evolution of the cryptocurrency and fintech industries. The event opens with a fireside chat with Commissioner Allison Herren Lee of the SEC, followed by a panel discussion among regulators and crypto industry leaders.

Ashley will moderate the panel discussion, and will be joined by John Beccia, co-founder and CEO of FS Vector, Melissa Hodgman, associate director in the Division of Enforcement at the SEC, and Georgia Quinn, general counsel of Anchorage Digital.

A former U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission attorney, Ashley’s diverse practice includes counseling fintech startups and financial sponsors on topics such as regulatory questions, corporate finance, and fund formation, and representing clients in regulatory and enforcement matters with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Commodity Futures Trading Commission, U.S. Department of Justice, and state agencies.
