St. Louis Partner Christopher Schmidt has been accepted into the 2019-2020 class of Leadership St. Louis (LSL). Leadership St. Louis is a development program designed to give participants an immersive experience to learn firsthand about the challenges and opportunities facing the region.
At Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner, Schmidt is a trial and class action lawyer whose national litigation practice focuses on high-stakes litigation, including class action defense, financial institution and complex business disputes, and professional and collegiate sports litigation. Schmidt currently co-leads the firm’s Sports Litigation Practice, has represented all of the teams in the National Hockey League (NHL) in the concussion class action litigation, and currently serves as national counsel for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) for sports litigation.
Schmidt also maintains an active pro bono practice focused on reuniting internationally abducted children with their families, and serves as national counsel for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in matters of critical importance relating to protecting children from exploitation. Schmidt serves on the firm’s Partner Advisory Board.
