The St. Louis Blues, a BCLP client, have announced a new 10-year naming rights agreement for the soon-to-be-completed community ice center complex in Maryland Heights, Mo.
The new “Centene Community Ice Center,” a $78 million development, will feature four NHL-sized ice rinks; a covered outdoor rink designed as a multipurpose venue for concerts, festivals and other events; a facility offering sports medicine, therapy, training and other ancillary medical services; and retail and restaurant spaces. The venue will serve as the new practice facility of the St. Louis Blues.
This is the third naming rights deal BCLP has handled for the St. Louis Blues in the past year alone. Earlier, the firm led naming rights deals for Enterprise Center and Stifel Theatre. The deals have been led by St. Louis Partner Ryan Davis (a co-leader of BCLP’s Sports & Entertainment Group), with assistance from Chicago Partner Mark Paskar and St. Louis Partners Joe Robertson and Hal Burroughs on various intellectual property, financing and real estate issues.
These deals, together with other recent significant naming rights deals handled by members of the group, are indicative of the types of high-profile matters handled by Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner’s Sports & Entertainment Group which have helped the firm earn recognition by Chambers as having one of the leading sports practices in both the United States and the United Kingdom.
