BCLP took home Private Client Team of the Year and Energy and Infrastructure Team of the Year at the UK’s annual Legal Business Awards 2019, held March 28 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
Legal Business Private Client Team of the Year
A number of factors were cited for why BCLP topped this category. The successful merger of legacy BLP and Bryan Cave teams into a global Private Client Practice is reflected in BCLP’s ability to work with clients across the world, with a particular focus on Europe, the US, Middle East and Asia. Work covered by the practice ranges from high net worth individuals to wealth management institutions and family offices. Judges also were impressed by BCLP’s efforts in the Middle East, inclusive of sharia advice and the team’s work in the United Arab Emirates and Abu Dhabi Global Market. The BCLP Private Client Team is led by London Partner Damian Bloom.
Legal Business Energy and Infrastructure Team of the Year
This entry bid was a combined effort by BCLP, Pinsent Masons and Heathrow Airport. We worked collaboratively with Pinsent Masons and Heathrow Airport, as part of a single-blended legal team, to manage the planning consent phase of the expansion of Heathrow Airport. As a high-profile and complex infrastructure project, the planning aspects associated with the runway expansion at Heathrow were considered too large for one external law firm. The BCLP Real Estate Team working on the project is led by London Partners Tim Smith and James Good.
