As a member of the firm’s Technology, Entrepreneurial & Commercial and Corporate Finance & Securities Client Service Groups, Allie Shapland’s practice focuses on supporting in-house legal and corporate teams on a wide range of commercial transactions. She supports clients in a variety of industries including insurance, automotive, entertainment, computer software and technology.
Formerly, Ms. Shapland was a summer associate in the firm’s Irvine office assisting in matters related to corporate finance and securities, commercial litigation, tax, and employment law. Prior to joining the firm, she interned in the Family Services Division of the Washington D.C. office of the Attorney General where she assisted in adoptions and family law litigation matters. She also previously worked for the Recording Industry Association of America where she proposed and drafted copyright legislation.
Ms. Shapland earned her Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School where she was an editor for the American Intellectual Property Law Association Quarterly Journal. Further, she was active within the Sports and Entertainment Law Society, serving as the Director of Entertainment. During her involvement with the association, she organized the George Washington Intellectual Property and Entertainment Law Brief and served as the Editor in Chief.
