Douglas Alvarez is a member of the Commercial Litigation Client Service Group. He focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation involving a variety of subject matters, including intellectual property and first amendment law.

Mr. Alvarez has experience in evaluating California’s Proposition 65 compliance requirements to assist clients in their compliance efforts. Specifically, he has provided clients with up to date information regarding the recent extensive changes in the safe harbor warning regulations, as well as updates regarding newly listed chemicals, all of which are essential to ensure compliance and avoid enforcement actions.

Mr. Alvarez also has been active in pro bono work. He wrote an amicus brief in support of transgender prisoners’ rights for a case before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Alvarez graduated from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where he coached and competed on the Moot Court team and was a member of the Moot Court Board. He also served as a senior articles editor on the Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly.
