Megan Canning is a member of the firm’s M&A and Corporate Finance practice group.  Her practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and corporate governance. 

Ms. Canning advises public and private companies in a wide range of corporate transactional matters, including mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, corporate reorganizations as well as securities compliance and corporate governance. She represent clients ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies that operate in a variety of industries, including health care, agriculture, financial services and technology.

Ms. Canning earned her J.D. from Georgia State University College of Law, where she was the Lead Articles Editor for the Georgia State University Law Review. During law school, she served as Judicial Extern to the Honorable Harold Melton in the Supreme Court of Georgia, as well as a Judicial Extern to the Honorable Wendy Hagenau for the United States Bankruptcy Court.  Ms. Canning was also a pupil in the Logan E. Bleckley Inn of Court.

  • Advised on SEC and corporate governance matters related to private equity activist investor
  • Advised on corporate governance of a privately held multi-state residential property REIT
