We have represented physicians and athletic trainers in litigation asserted by former football players in the NFL and its former European subsidiary. In these cases, the former players alleged that the physicians and trainers failed to properly diagnose the players’ head injuries and/or improperly allowed the players to return to play before they should have.
Bryan Cave has represented numerous clients across the country in negligence and product-liability cases involving claims for concussions and other traumatic brain injuries. Bryan Cave’s clients in these cases include automobile, airplane and bathroom and kitchen manufacturers, car/truck rental companies, as well as major department stores, and the claimants have included drivers, passengers, customers, parents and children. In many of these cases, the parties have engaged in extensive fact and expert discovery, to include engaging, preparing, deposing, and cross-examining neurologists. As part of this intense discovery, the Bryan Cave attorneys have analyzed and made use of the claimants’ medical records and histories, particularly with regard to prior head and brain injuries. As a result, Bryan Cave has obtained early dispositions in some cases and favorable settlements in others.
