BCLP Partners Phil Karmel and Erin Brooks will joined the faculty at thr Practising Law Institute (PLI) full-day event, Environmental Regulation in Practice 2023: New Challenges and Controversies.

The Aug. 2 event included presentations and panel discussions on recent developments in most areas of environmental law, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, the Toxic Substances Control Act, environmental justice, ESG disclosure regulation and anti-ESG initiatives, and PFAS/PFOS risks in real estate and corporate deals.

Phil co-chaired the event and presented as part of a panel on the Clean Air Act. He has broad experience serving as litigation and regulatory counsel in environmental, land use, real estate and toxic tort matters. He is a frequent speaker and author on environmental and land use law.

Erin joined a panel presentation on environmental due diligence and environmental insurance. The panel in part focused on PFAS risks and the regulatory landscape. Erin has a nationwide environmental practice with extensive experience in real estate redevelopment. She represents clients across a wide range of industries, including brownfields redevelopment, food, beverage and agriculture, manufacturing, metal fabricating, and car rental and fleet management.
