BCLP partners with Legal Services of Eastern Missouri and Citigroup for fifth annual Financial Institutions Pro Bono Day

BCLP is partnering with lawyers from Legal Services of Eastern Missouri and Citigroup on April 18 to observe the fifth annual Financial Institutions Pro Bono Day. The event, sponsored by the Pro Bono Institute, brings together volunteer attorneys and legal staff from financial institutions across the globe to provide legal assistance and address critical legal needs of underserved communities. This year, the partnership will present two distinct CLE programs and legal clinics: 

The first program – involving advance health care directives and limited POAs – will run from 12 pm to 4 pm CST. It will begin with a CLE led by BCLP attorneys Sasha Riedisser and Ed Tjaden, followed by a clinic in which we will assist low-income individuals with these documents. 

The second program – focused on small business consultation – will run from 4 pm to 7 pm CST. The session will commence with a CLE led by Marlene Elliott, director of Legal Services of Eastern Missouri’s Community Economic Development team, and will be followed by a clinic in which we aid pre-registered individuals in answering general questions about small business creation and operation.

The event will take place at the Lewis & Clark Branch of the St. Louis Public Library at 9909 Lewis & Clark Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63136.
