International law firm BCLP advised the shareholders of hotel group Geisel Privathotels on the sale of the newly built Hotel Königshof on Munich's Karlsplatz (locally known as Stachus), one of the most famous squares in Munich.

The sale took place by way of a share deal to the Munich-based Dr. Hans Inselkammer Group. Dr. Hans Inselkammer Group is taking over the interior fit-out of the future five-star hotel. The operator will be Mhp Munich Hotel Partners. The 106-room Hotel Königshof is expected to open in the first quarter of 2024.

The BCLP team, led by Partner Christian Lonquich and Counsel Caspar Samuel von Eicke und Polwitz, provided comprehensive advice to Geisel Privathotels on all legal issues related to the transaction, particularly on corporate and real estate matters as well as tax law and financing.

Christian Lonquich commented: "We are very pleased to have advised the hotel group Geisel Privathotels on this transaction, which is not only significant for Munich. The new construction of the traditional luxury hotel at Munich's Stachus is a project development with landmark character, which will enrich Munich's hotel landscape and will also attract attention beyond the region. Our clients believe in the success of the hotel and therefore wanted above all to ensure seamless design of the interior by the buyer."
