Summary

BCLP is a sponsor and has key involvement in the 2021 World Agri-Tech Innovation Summit, to be held virtually March 9-10. The 2021 summit, centered on the theme “Towards Net Zero Agriculture & Supply Chain Resilience,” will include panels and roundtables on topics such as plant and animal pandemics, carbon tracking, sustainable crop inputs, automation and robotics, alternative proteins, growth finance and ESG.

The goal of the eighth-annual summit was to facilitate new connections and collaborations, and to help accelerate the pace of innovation as the industry builds a more secure, sustainable and resilient food system. The event attracted agribusinesses, food brands, growers, entrepreneurs and investors with an agenda of interactive roundtable discussions on critical business challenges hosted by industry leaders.

St. Louis Partner Brendan Johnson, leader of BCLP’s Start-Up & Venture Capital Practice, hosted a roundtable discussion titled “Developing a credible ESG strategy to maximize value” with commentary from St. Louis Partner Steven Poplawski.

The BCLP roundtable featured timely and practical advice on how environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria are driving strategic investment decisions for food and agribusiness companies throughout the supply chain. The discussion shared insights, compare the similarities and differences companies have faced and offer ideas on how to better incorporate ESG into your business and stakeholder engagement strategy.
