International law firm BCLP announced the addition of Partner Erin Ehlert to the firm’s Litigation & Investigations department. Erin joins BCLP’s Seattle office following the firm’s recent combination with Seattle-based firm Harrigan Leyh Farmer & Thomsen (HLFT). BCLP’s growing presence in the region includes the addition of more than a dozen high-profile trial lawyers to the firm’s deepening bench in the Pacific Northwest.

With more than 25 years of litigation experience, Erin’s practice focuses on cases making their way to trial. Her experience includes product liability, tort cases, defending municipalities in personal injury and use of force litigation, medical malpractice defense and wrongful death. Previously a criminal prosecutor with thousands of hours in the courtroom, she is highly skilled in reviewing and synthesizing complex discovery and investigations, identifying experts, crafting persuasive arguments in favor of clients and executing winnings strategies — earning her a strong reputation in the courtroom.

“We are excited to welcome Erin to the Seattle office,” said Co-Office Managing Partners Jennifer Campbell and Tyler Farmer. “Her trial experience is a great compliment to our growing bench and clients will benefit from her wealth of trial experience and litigation insight.”

During her tenure at the King County Prosecutor’s Office, Erin served as the Seattle Assistant Chief of the Criminal Division and later supervised the Homicide Unit. She regularly handled policy and legislative issues, advising on case development and the resolution of criminal investigations from more than 20 law enforcement agencies— routinely responding to active crime scenes and applying cutting-edge DNA technology to cold case investigations. In her role, she advised on several high-profile cases and investigations, including the scene response, investigation, trial and conviction of the 2006 mass shooting at the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle; the crime scene response and homicide investigations in the Capitol Hill Organized Protest (CHOP) zone in the summer of 2020; and the investigation and filing of criminal charges using genetic genealogy for the 1991 murder of high school student Sarah Yarborough.

“We are thrilled to welcome Erin to our team,” said Partner and Global Department Leader – Litigation & Investigations, Lee Marshall. “Erin’s tactical leadership and experience in trial advocacy combined with her strategic approach to complex cases, are notable additions to our comprehensive litigation and trial capabilities. Her wealth of experience in the courtroom makes her a valuable asset to our clients firmwide and particularly those in the Pacific Northwest.” Erin joins from Corr Cronin.
