Associates graduate from KC Bar Leadership Academy
Jan 25, 2023BCLP Associates Jordan Haas and Cassie Valentine graduated December 2022 from the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association, Greater Kansas City Bar Leadership Academy (BLA). The program is designed to help emerging leaders of the legal profession in Kansas City develop the skills, knowledge and experience needed to become leaders in both the profession and the community.
During this seven-month program, new attorneys participate in seven interactive leadership training sessions featuring prominent speakers, instructors and discussion facilitators. Participants are selected by the Academy Planning Committee (consisting of past graduates). Opportunities are made available for participants to serve as an intern on a nonprofit board of directors and to initiate a service project during the academy period.
Jordan focuses his practice at BCLP on commercial real estate matters, representing clients in connection with acquisitions, dispositions, financing, development and leasing across a variety of asset classes including commercial and multi-family real estate development. He also counsels clients in connection with asset-based lending, real estate finance, bond financings and debt restructuring, and has experience assisting with real estate closings and reviewing title commitments and surveys. He has represented clients in commercial leasing, lease workout matters and has appeared before the Kansas Board of Tax Appeals on tax valuation matters.
Cassie’s practice focuses primarily on business and commercial disputes and employment matters. As a commercial litigator, Cassie assists clients through all stages of litigation. She has worked with companies on both the plaintiff and defense side of complex business disputes, including claims for breach of contract, negligence, breach of fiduciary duty and tortious interference. Cassie has a wide range of employment litigation experience defending employers against claims of race, gender and age discrimination, sexual harassment, retaliation and wrongful termination.
