BCLP Partner Richard E. Finneran was recently named the 2022 Adjunct Professor of the Year by Washington University School of Law in St. Louis.

Rich graduated magna cum laude from Wash U Law in 2008 and has taught there ever since. Over the years, he has taught courses in constitutional law, criminal procedure and appellate advocacy. He also served as the head coach of the school’s highly successful National Moot Court Team and is the faculty advisor for the Wiley Rutledge Moot Court Competition, Wash U’s intramural program now entering its 153rd year.

The Adjunct Professor of the Year is selected by the Wash U Law student body from nominations submitted to the Student Bar Association. This is Rich’s third time being honored the award, which he previously received in 2013 and 2017.

Wash U and BCLP maintain a strong connection, with 31 partners and 31 associates across the firm having graduated from Wash U’s law school.

Rich’s practice at the firm concentrates on white-collar criminal matters, corporate internal investigations, corporate compliance, and civil trial and appellate litigation. Prior to joining the firm, Rich served as an assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri, where he was responsible for prosecuting some of the region’s most significant white-collar matters, including the two largest financial fraud trials ever conducted by that office. In addition to his academic accolades, Rich has received recognition for his work as a practitioner, receiving the Missouri Lawyers Weekly Legal Champion Award in 2014 and the Missouri Bar Foundation’s David J. Dixon Appellate Advocacy Award in 2016.
