BCLP Lawyers Author Article in ‘Tax Journal’
Aug 08, 2022Partner Kate Ison and Associate Wesley Grimm authored an article July 26 in Tax Journal considering the government’s innovative ways to assist taxpayers to identify and declare their non-UK income and assets. “The consultation considered how to make it easier for taxpayers with non-UK income and gains to declare the right amount of tax first time, including how to address common errors made by taxpayers relating to offshore tax compliance,” they wrote. “Helpfully, the government has accepted that it could better support taxpayers by raising awareness of their obligations and by clarifying the meaning of certain terminology relating to offshore tax compliance.”
