Biography

Clara is a senior consultant in the Asia Real Estate Group based in Hong Kong SAR. She has handled the full range of real estate transactions, including investment acquisitions, real estate development and financing, property management, commercial and residential property leasing, M&A and joint ventures, corporate restructuring and project conveyancing.

Clara has represented developers, real estate funds, hotels, financial institutions, and government authorities on sizeable and complex projects.

Clara is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.

  • Advising a land exchange program involving the disposal by a government authority of over 187,000 square feet of industrial property in exchange for grade A office space in Cityplaza 3 to make way for the expansion development of Taikoo Place.
  • Advising the Hong Kong Housing Authority on the divestment of over 10 million square feet of shopping malls and 79,000 car parking spaces in over 180 public housing estates by way of the Link REIT, and their listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
  • Advising Citigroup on the acquisition of their signature building in the PRC and on the structuring of turn-key agreement and the pre-lease agreements, as well as advising on the development, sale and leaseback of Citibank Plaza and Grand Central Plaza in Hong Kong SAR.
  • Advising on the subdivision of 8 million square feet of serviced apartment blocks, office and retail spaces, hotel and 2,000 car parking spaces, an ocean liner berth and large exhibition venues of Harbour City in Hong Kong SAR.
  • Advising a logistics real estate fund on the en-bloc commercial pre-leasing of two buildings under construction in Tsuen Wan (GFA in excess of 1.1 million square feet when completed). One of them is pre-letting of a high-tier data centre to a global data centre & colocation infrastructure provider and the other one an industrial complex to a local data service provider with the latter involving government waiver to change the permitted use. The work covered all leasing and structuring aspects of the transactions and also addressed power energisation, power supply and access and shell building specifications and construction control of the project.
