Biography
Jason Shumacher is a BCLP fellow in the St. Louis office working with the Midwest Innocence Project. In this role, he splits his time between the firm’s Class Actions and Mass Torts Practice Group and his work for the Midwest Innocence Project pursuing claims of wrongful conviction.
Jason earned his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., where he graduated magna cum laude and was elected to membership in the Order of the Coif. During law school, he served as the senior notes editor of the American Criminal Law Review and represented indigent criminal defendants in D.C. Superior Court as part of Georgetown’s Criminal Justice Clinic.
Prior to law school, Jason received his B.A. in international affairs and Spanish from Washington University in St. Louis. He also worked for several years in Washington, D.C., as a consultant focusing on economic policy and as a paralegal advising arbitrators presiding over international investment disputes.
