William J. Easley
Biography
William (Will) Easley represents lenders and borrowers navigating financial distress, providing strategic counsel across the full lifecycle of restructuring matters. As a Partner in BCLP's Finance Transactions group, Will has experience representing creditors, debtors, and restructuring professionals in a wide range of matters, with a particular depth of experience in real estate matters and commercial mortgage-backed securities.
Will’s practice spans both litigation and transactional matters. On the transactional side, Will negotiates forbearance and modification agreements, the purchase and sale of distressed assets, and advises on bankruptcy and insolvency-related transactional risks. His litigation experience includes contested matters involving pre-judgment remedies such as attachment of assets and receiver appointments, loan enforcement litigation, adversary proceedings and complex judgment enforcement matters.
Will received his J.D., Order of the Coif, from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2017, where he was a Rice Scholar—one of only four recipients of the school's most prestigious merit scholarship. Outside of the office, Will serves on the Midwest Bankruptcy Institute Advisory Board, where he collaborates with bankruptcy judges, practitioners, and financial professionals to develop continuing legal education programming for the regional bankruptcy bar and is a member of the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce's Centurions Leadership Program.
