BCLP advises Fondsdepot Bank on strategic partnership with Elinvar

The international law firm BCLP has advised Fondsdepot Bank GmbH on the launch of a strategic partnership with Elinvar GmbH.

The aim of the partnership is to develop an advisory and brokerage platform for insurance companies under the liability umbrella of Fondsdepot Bank. The strategic partnership combines Elinvar's modern IT infrastructure with the experience and regulatory know-how of Germany's leading fund platform. With around 10,000 tied agents, Fondsdepot Bank provides Germany's largest liability umbrella for well-known insurance companies on the market.

Fondsdepot Bank was advised in the negotiations on the strategic partnership with Elinvar by a BCLP team specializing in IT, outsourcing agreements and financial market regulation, headed by Frankfurt Partner Prof. Dr. Bernd Geier and Hamburg Partner Dominik Weiss. Previously, in December 2019, BCLP advised Fondsdepot Bank and its parent company DXC Technology on the acquisition of AXA Bank AG in Germany, as well as on the negotiations for a strategic partnership with AXA Group.

As the leading fund platform in Germany, Fondsdepot Bank links markets: independent of banks and asset managers, it offers over 180 sales partners simplified access to investment solutions from a wide range of investment companies and the custody of their customers' portfolios in custody accounts. Fondsdepot Bank also provides the legal, technical and organisational framework for advising and brokering shares in investment funds and asset management products.

Elinvar enables asset and wealth managers to digitalize their business models by providing the required Platform as a Service. This includes applications for core processes like client relationship management, online onboarding, onsite advisory support, portfolio management, reporting, invoicing, online client access and communication as well as third party connections, e.g. to custodian banks, market data or KYC providers.
