BCLP advises two U.S. investment funds, OrbiMed Advisors and Deerfield, on a $40 million follow-on financing agreement with Valneva

Paris, 9th May 2022 – Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP) has advised two U.S. healthcare investment funds, Orbimed Advisors and Deerfield Management Company, in a $40 million follow-on financing agreement with vaccine company Valneva.

This agreement completes an initial agreement of February 2020 between the above two funds and Valneva by increasing the amount in principal of the 2020 agreement.

Orbimed Advisors and Deerfield Management Company were advised in France by Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner (BCLP) Paris with a team composed of Corporate Partner Christian Sauer, Partner Olivier Borenstejn and Associate Aliou Wone in financing. In the US the investment funds were advised by Covington & Burling LLP.

Valneva was advised in France by Hogan Lovells (Paris) LLP. The Hogan Lovells team was composed of Jean Marc Franceschi, Corporate Partner, Sophie Lok, Counsel, Ouassila El Asri and Diane Ferriol, Financing Associates.  In the US, Valneva was advised by Dechert LLP.
