BCLP Appoints New Office Managing Partner in Washington, D.C.
Jun 22, 2026BCLP has appointed Jonathan Nesher as the new Office Managing Partner (OMP) of its Washington, D.C., office. Jon succeeds Philip Bartz, who will continue his antitrust practice with the firm.
Jon joined the firm in February 2019 and has since played a central role in building and expanding the corporate practice and market profile in Washington, D.C. He also serves as the Global Leader of the Aerospace & Defense Practice, where he has driven the growth and integration of the team across the firm, advising on complex cross-border transactions spanning North America, Europe, and Asia.
“I’m deeply honored to be entrusted with this role and grateful for the confidence placed in me,” Jon said. “As the Washington, D.C., OMP, my focus is on strengthening the trust our clients place in us by consistently delivering exceptional results, further elevating our presence in the market, and working alongside an outstanding team across all practices to build on the strong momentum we’ve created in this office.”
Operating in one of the most sophisticated legal markets in the world, BCLP's Washington D.C., office distinguishes itself through the quality of its work, the depth of its talent, and the strength of its client relationships across corporate, litigation, regulatory, and other key practice areas. This strength is consistently validated through recognition in leading industry rankings – including Chambers and Legal 500 - and major transaction awards such as M&A Advisor. The firm's D.C. practice is entrusted with both clients’ most complex, high-stakes matters and their day-to-day needs, underscoring a continued focus on delivering practical, high-level advice while fostering a meaningful, supportive, and collaborative culture rooted in the firm’s more than 150-year legacy of client service.
“Over the past seven years, Jon has distinguished himself as an exceptional leader in our Washington, D.C. office, leaving a lasting impact on our clients and our remarkable team of lawyers,” said BCLP Chief Executive Officer Steve Baumer. “He’s an invaluable asset to the firm, and we’re excited for what his tenure as office managing partner will bring to BCLP.”
Jon's appointment comes at a time when the Washington, D.C., office is growing, as evidenced by the recent addition of lateral Partners Alexis Early, Laura Brank and Susan Carney Lynch, who bring to the firm practices that specialize in trade and sanctions, cross-border transactions and healthcare litigation, respectively. These arrivals complement a highly regarded group of D.C.-based lawyers whose practices cover areas of importance to the firm’s clients, including antitrust, white-collar and global investigations, commercial litigation, and intellectual property litigation and disputes.
