A BCLP Competition Litigation team was featured June 27 in The Lawyer (subscription required) for their work on behalf of Royal Mail and BT in the landmark trucks cartel case, which earned them the Litigation Team of the Year award at The Lawyer Awards 2023. The case is now the leading cartel damages judgment in the UK. Royal Mail’s Head of Competition, Luke Ainger, said of BCLP’s conduct, “While BCLP defended our position robustly, they weren’t aggressive and were at all times sensible and reasonable. They saw the longer narrative on all of the separate strands of the work.” Royal Mail’s Chief Legal Officer, Matt Newman, commented, “We happened to do a panel refresh whilst BCLP were doing this work, they weren’t on our panel before, but we were so impressed by their client focus, their passion and their energy that they very quickly became a firm we wanted to work with more broadly.”

The BCLP Competition Litigation team includes Edward Coulson, Ben Blacklock, Andrew Hockley, Andrew Leitch, Alexandra Hildyard, Graeme Thomas, Sam Brown, India Fahy, Tom Wright, Marieke Datema, Dan Swinburn, Jason Alvares, George Christodoulides and Natasha Warby.
