International law firm BCLP today announced that Laura M. Brank has joined the firm as a partner in its Corporate Transactions Practice, based in Washington, D.C.

Laura is a widely recognized corporate and finance lawyer with a broad-based M&A practice focused on emerging markets and cross-border transactions. Over the past 30 years, she has advised multinational corporations, investment funds, banks, multilateral institutions and high-net-worth individuals on complex corporate and finance matters, as well as on corporate governance and compliance matters, including international sanctions, throughout the U.S., Europe and Central Asia.

“Our strategic approach to building our bench strength in cross-border, strategic corporate transactions aligns with Laura’s deep sector-focused experience and proven business generation capabilities. Her track record in complex, middle-market corporate and finance transactions and her established client base across key industries and geographies make her an invaluable addition to our global corporate team,” said Carol Osborne, Global Department Leader – Corporate & Finance Transactions.

Laura’s transactional experience spans industries including mining and energy, TMT, life sciences and manufacturing. She has been recognized repeatedly by various legal directories, including Chambers Europe, ILFR1000Best Lawyers and Who’s Who Legal as well as in Legal 500’s “Hall of Fame” in the areas of corporate governance, M&A, finance and compliance.

Laura’s clients require seamless cross-border support, a capability strongly aligned with BCLP’s international reach, and her work frequently intersects with adjacent practices such as international trade and arbitration.

“Laura’s arrival reflects our continued investment in top-tier talent with the global perspective and transactional depth our clients rely on. Her cross-border M&A experience and strong client relationships across emerging markets will add immediate value to our international platform and enhance our capabilities in Washington, D.C.,” said Todd Kaye, Practice Group Leader – Corporate Transactions.

Outside of her practice, Laura serves on several boards, including the Global Leaders Assembly Foundation, a nonprofit organization that promotes constructive engagement across borders on global challenges. She is also a member of the executive committee and the board of directors of the American Chamber of Commerce in Russia. In addition, she serves on the European Advisory Board of Georgetown University’s Law Center, the Advisory Board of Georgetown University’s Master of Science in Foreign Service program, and the Advisory Board of the CEELI Institute, a nonprofit organization focused on promoting the rule of law.

“BCLP’s global footprint, the depth and breadth of its corporate, finance and real estate practices, together with the firm’s sectoral experience and its innovative approach to client challenges, align perfectly with my clients’ needs at this challenging time for international business,” Laura said.

Laura joins BCLP from Dechert LLP.
