BCLP Partner Lori Van Auken was quoted Dec. 28 by Legaltech News in the first of the seven part series on Legal Tech’s predictions for cybersecurity for 2022. “I expect we’ll see major fall-out from the December 2020 SolarWinds attack. The SEC has been conducting a sweeping investigation of affected companies, seeking information about any unauthorized access they may have experienced, dating back to October 2019, even if unrelated to SolarWinds,” said Lori. “This gives the SEC a window into a lot of potentially immaterial, non-public information that typically would be off-limits. I expect to see a number of high-profile enforcement actions as a result, and some challenging new disclosure requirements around cybersecurity risks and incidents.”
