BCLP Paris Antitrust and Competition Team advises Altice Media, the third-largest private media group in France, on the antitrust aspects regarding the signing with TF1 and M6 Group of a promise to purchase two digital terrestrial television channels (DTT) TFX and 6Ter. The two disposals are part of the TF1 and M6 merger, announced on May 17, 2021. Following the transaction, the newly merged group will be required to dispose of several national DTT channels, in accordance with the limit defined by French regulations.

The acquisition of TFX and 6Ter is subject to the consultative information of the staff representative bodies, the approval of the French Competition Authority and Autorité de regulation de la communication audiovisuelle et numérique (ARCOM) and the completion of TF1 and M6 Group’s own merger. Altice Media owns three national DTT channels, three radio stations, one replay platform and one digital news platform.

BCLP Antitrust & Competition Team in Paris is composed of Partner Julie Catala Marty, Counsel Rémi Beydon and Associate Paul Blin.
