BCLP Partner Presented at LGA Roundtable on Sanctions

BCLP Partner Philippe Métais participated in the round table discussion "Economic sanctions: how to manage the risk?" hosted by the LJA. The report was published in the May issue of the magazine. It deals with the following questions: how can companies understand the scope of these extraterritorial regulations in order to better protect themselves from the risk? What concrete measures should companies take to integrate the new sanction-related issues? On the scope of application of the sanctions Philippe comments: "The notion of dual-use goods also extends the regulations. It refers to products intended for a use other than the one concerned by the sanctions, which can be diverted and used for another purpose, for example military or intelligence purposes. They therefore fall under the sanctions. He also responds to the debate on the negotiation of sanctions clauses between economic partners and on the management of litigation risk by companies.
