BCLP ranks in UK Social Mobility Employer Index

International law firm BCLP has ranked 13th in the 2022 UK Social Mobility Employer Index.  

The index is an important bench-marking initiative that ranks some of Britain’s largest employers on the actions they are taking to support, attract and develop talent from less privileged backgrounds. Accelerating social mobility is an important commitment for BCLP, and the firm has been ranked one of the top law firms for six consecutive years.  

This year, notable activities supporting our efforts to increase social mobility include: BCLP’s continuing support of the PRIME initiative through our annual Career Kick Start work experience program for students from low income backgrounds; providing London living wage for summer vacation students; removing academic weighting and scoring from assessment processes; and growing our support of the Aspiring Solicitors Foundation, which gives scholarships and grants for interview clothing and equipment to young aspiring lawyers who are facing financial hardship.

In other news from the UK Social Mobility Awards 2022, BCLP Partner Tim Smith was awarded Highly Commended in the Champion of the Year category, and the firm’s Sponsorship Programme won the Silver Award in the Progression Programme of the Year category.
