BCLP recognised as a Significant Player for India-related matters
Jul 29, 2025International law firm BCLP has been named by India Business Law Journal (IBLJ) as a ‘Significant Player’ and one of the world's top foreign law firms for India-related matters in 2025. The report published by IBLJ is based upon extensive consultations with partners at Indian law firms as well as India-based corporate counsel, in addition to submissions from international law firms which are supported by interviews and research conducted by the publication’s editorial team.
The IBLJ Report noted that BCLP “remained busy on Indian matters” and recently “boosted its India team with the hire of Partner Shivani Sanghi who brings extensive experience in international commercial and investment treaty arbitration”.
BCLP Partner, Shivani Sanghi, added: "We’re delighted that BCLP has been recognised by the India Business Law Journal among the top foreign firms for India-related work in 2025. This acknowledgment underscores BCLP’s enhanced commitment to India and our growing focus on supporting Indian businesses across borders, and our international clients looking to invest in India. It also highlights BCLP’s increasing influence in India’s cross-border legal landscape — a reflection of the strength and depth of our India practice.”
IBLJ additionally highlighted a few India related matters handled by BCLP recently, which include:
- Advising Carrefour on its new franchise partnership with Apparel Group in India, led by the UK managing partner, Jinal Shah, which will launch over 50 Carrefour-branded food retail stores in India, targeting rapid expansion over the next three years as part of Carrefour’s global rollout strategy.
- Advising longstanding client, international property developer Grosvenor, led by BCLP’s expert Real Estate team, on the sale of 40-46 Brook Street in Mayfair in London, which will be converted into the first Oberoi hotel in the UK, which is set to open in 2027.
