Didier Bruère-Dawson, a partner in the Paris office's Restructuring practice, explained to L'Agefi Bruno Lemaire's announcements regarding the possible cancellation - on a case-by-case basis - of part of the debt of some companies faced with the economic impact of the covid health crisis: "Bercy is opening the door to possible debt cancellations for companies". He recalls the role of existing bodies such as the CIRI and the difficulty for the State to interfere in everything that concerns debtor-creditor relations in a private debt relationship.
