The global law firm BCLP has advised Aiolos and the Banque des Territoires (Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations) on the disposal of 100 percent of the shares of Aalto Power, a French wind farm developer, builder and operator, to Iberdrola Renovables France, a subsidiary of the Spanish group Iberdrola.

Aalto Power is one of the main players in the wind farm energy sector in France, and Iberdrola is the largest producer of renewable energy in Europe and the United States and the world leader in wind energy.

“With the support of this new shareholder whose activity and skills are highly complementary, Aalto Power is ideally positioned to accelerate its development in France” the sellers noted in a press release.

The amount of the transaction is confidential. Completion of the transaction is subject to obtaining certain administrative authorizations.

The BCLP Paris-based deal team included Of Counsel Kai Völpel and Associate Paul Ast in mergers and acquisitions; Partner Jean-Pierre Delvigne and Associate Maryne Gouhier in public and energy law; Partner Christine Daric and Associate Jeanne Gloor in tax law; Partner Marion Brière Ségala and Associate Fanny Durand in labor law; and Counsel Cyrille Rumen in financing. In Berlin, Partner Albrecht von Breitenbuch and Associate Andy Schaal handled German law M&A aspects.

The financial adviser of the sellers was Green Cape Finance, represented by founder Geoffroy de Clisson. The purchaser was advised by Baker McKenzie.
