Co-Chair Lisa Mayhew in Law.com on route to leadership

BCLP co-chair Lisa Mayhew was featured Nov. 3 by Law.com (subscription required) on her route to firm leadership and the highs and lows of managing an international law firm.

Her first leadership role came in 2013, when she took over as head of the legacy BLP employment and pensions practice. “That was my first leadership role. It wasn’t one that I was seeking, I was asked to do it and I discovered I really enjoyed doing it,” she commented. “I liked developing strategy and having an influence in setting the tone of the team.”

The Q&A interview also touched on her most crucial decisions, including the challenges associated with an aborted merger, Brexit, completing a transatlantic merger, a major strategy review, the pandemic, and steering the firm through a war in Europe – which included the difficult decision to close the firm’s Moscow office.
