Data Privacy Leader Joins Diversity Discussion

Partner Amy de La Lama, chair of BCLP’s Global Data Privacy & Security Team, recently took part in a live webinar discussion of diversity in the privacy profession. Hosted by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) on April 28, the event was part of the organization’s Diversity in Privacy Monthly Mentor Q&A series.

De La Lama joined as a featured mentor to share experiences, answer questions and talk through challenges in the profession. With her was Dominique Shelton Leipzig, IAPP Board member and privacy partner at Perkins Coie.

At BCLP, de La Lama specializes in global privacy, data security and cyber security. She provides advice to a wide range of multinational pharmaceutical and medical device companies, retail companies, online businesses, B2B companies, and other types of organizations regarding these issues. She has broad experience guiding clients through the development and implementation of privacy compliance programs as well as advising clients on GDPR and similar global privacy laws in addition to CCPA, HIPAA and other U.S. privacy law issues.
